Middle School

A free, public Montessori education for middle school students.

Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.

Dr. Maria Montessori

Middle School Education

Our middle school program will open in Fall 2028 as a tuition-free, public charter school and will serve students in grades 6-8. Students are welcome to join us from the Denver metro area, including Denver, Aurora, Commerce City and beyond.

Coming Soon: Opening Fall 2028

Monarch is excited to expand its Montessori journey beyond elementary school! Following approval from the DPS Board of Education, Monarch plans to add middle school grades in the coming years, creating a seamless pathway for students to continue their Montessori education through adolescence.

The expansion will begin with sixth grade, followed by seventh and eighth grades in subsequent years, giving families the opportunity to remain part of the Monarch community for even longer. The future middle school will build on Monarch’s strong foundation of Montessori education, bilingual learning opportunities, outdoor experiences, and whole-child development while preparing students for success in high school and beyond.

At a Glance

Monarch’s future middle school program will build on the strong foundation students develop in elementary, providing a challenging and engaging environment where adolescents can deepen their academic skills, strengthen their independence, and discover their place in the wider world.

Outcomes

Students who complete Monarch Montessori’s middle school program will leave ready for success in high school and beyond. Building on a strong Montessori foundation, they will develop advanced academic skills, confidence in their abilities, and the independence to take ownership of their learning. Our goal is that middle school students leave Monarch with a deeper understanding of themselves, their communities, and the world around them.

Enrollment

Monarch Montessori’s middle school program is a free, public charter school and is part of the Denver Public Schools system. Sixth grade enrollment opens during the 2028-29 DPS School Choice window. We will add one grade per year up to eighth grade.
